No ce labhetha, te bhikkhupaccatthikā bhikkhūhi evamassu vacanīyā— ‘iṅgha tumhe āyasmanto muhuttaṁ ekamantaṁ hotha, yāvāyaṁ bhikkhu pavāraṇaṁ detī’ti. Evañcetaṁ labhetha, iccetaṁ kusalaṁ. No ce labhetha, te bhikkhupaccatthikā bhikkhūhi evamassu vacanīyā— ‘iṅgha tumhe āyasmanto imaṁ bhikkhuṁ muhuttaṁ nissīmaṁ netha, yāva saṅgho pavāretī’ti.
If on the invitation day a monk is seized by kings, or by enemies of the monks, other monks should say to those enemies, ‘Listen, please release this monk for a short time, so that he can take part in the invitation ceremony.’ If they’re able to do this, it’s good. If not, they should say to those enemies, ‘Listen, please step aside for a moment while this monk passes on his invitation.’ If they’re able to do this, it’s good. If not, they should say to those enemies, ‘Listen, please take this monk outside the monastery zone for a short time while the Sangha does the invitation ceremony.’

Paṭippassaddhaṁ saṅghena seyyasakassa bhikkhuno niyassakammaṁ. Khamati saṅghassa, tasmā tuṇhī, evametaṁ dhārayāmī’”ti. Niyassakammaṁ niṭṭhitaṁ dutiyaṁ. 3. Pabbājanīyakamma Tena kho pana samayena assajipunabbasukā nāma kīṭāgirismiṁ āvāsikā honti alajjino pāpabhikkhū.
Please, venerables, I ask the Sangha to listen. The Sangha has done a legal procedure of demotion against the monk Seyyasaka. He’s now conducting himself properly and suitably, and deserves to be released. He’s asking for that legal procedure to be lifted. The Sangha lifts that legal procedure of demotion against the monk Seyyasaka. Any monk who approves of lifting that legal procedure should remain silent. Any monk who doesn’t approve should speak up. The Sangha has lifted that legal procedure of demotion against the monk Seyyasaka. The Sangha approves and is therefore silent. I’ll remember it thus.’” The second section on the legal procedure of demotion is finished. 3. The legal procedure of banishment At one time the bad and shameless monks Assaji and Punabbasuka were staying at Kīṭāgiri.
