They also include bakers, barbers, bathroom attendants, cooks, garland-makers, dyers, embroiderers, basket-makers, potters, accountants, finger-talliers, or those following any similar professions. All these live off the fruits of their profession which are apparent in this very life. With that they make themselves happy and pleased. また、菓子職人、理髪師、浴室の世話人、料理人、花輪師、染物師、刺繍師、籠細工師、陶工、算術師、指折り計算師、あるいはこれらに類するいかなる職業に従事する者たちも同様である。これらすべての者たちは、現世（ディッタ・ダンマ）においてまさに目に見えるかたちで、おのれの職業の果報（サッパ・パラ）によって生計を立てている。その収入をもって、自らを安楽にし、喜ばせる。父母を安楽にし、喜ばせる。妻子を安楽にし、喜ばせる。朋友・知己を安楽にし、喜ばせる。そして沙門・婆羅門（サマナ・バラモン）に対して、天界（サッガ）に導き、楽なる果報をもたらし、天に生ぜしめる崇高な布施（ダッキナー）を捧げる。
「大徳よ、それと同じように、現世においてまさに目に見えるかたちで、沙門の果（サーマンニャ・パラ）を示すことはできましょうか」と。
