律蔵 薬犍度 段落42
he said to them, “I hope you’re keeping well, monks, I hope you’re getting by? I hope you’re not tired from traveling? And where have you come from?” “We’re keeping well, sir, we’re getting by,” and they told him what had happened. Soon afterwards the Buddha gave a teaching and addressed the monks: “If there is no attendant, but you see fruit, I allow you to pick it up yourself. You should then carry it until you see an attendant, put it on the ground, and have it received. You may then eat it. I allow you to receive what you have picked up.” On one occasion a certain brahmin had obtained fresh sesame seed and fresh honey.
