長部経典（DN30 §2.23.8–2.24.17）
The Buddha spoke this matter. On this it is said: Having experienced that fruit, on his return to here <j>he acquired the voice of the Divinity. His tongue was long and wide, and his speech was compelling. Even as householder his speech brings prosperity. But if that man goes forth, speaking often to the people, they’ll be compelled by his fair words.”
世尊はこの義（こころ）を説きたもうた。これについて、次のように言われる。
「善行の果報（かほう）を受けて、
この世に還り来たりしとき、彼は梵天の声（ブラフマッサラ）を得た。
その舌は広く長く、
その言葉は人々の心を捉えてやまなかった。
在家のままあっても、語るとおりに繁栄をもたらし、
もしその人が出家して、
しばしば人々に語りかけるならば、
人々は彼の善き言葉に引き寄せられ、
多くの者に多くの妙法を説く者となるであろう。」
