Why don’t we pay due respect to mother and father, ascetics and brahmins, honoring the elders in our families? Having undertaken this skillful thing we’ll live by it.’ So that’s what they do. Because of undertaking this skillful thing, their lifespan and beauty will grow. 「我らは母（mātar）と父（pitar）を敬い、沙門（samaṇa）とバラモン（brāhmaṇa）を尊び、家中の長老に礼を尽くすべきではなかろうか。この善法（kusala-dhamma）を受持して、これに従って生きようではないか」と。
かくして彼らは、母と父を敬い、沙門とバラモンを尊び、家中の長老に礼を尽くし、この善法を受持してこれに従って生きるであろう。彼らはこの善法を受持することによって、寿命（āyu）もまた増し、容色（vaṇṇa）もまた増すであろう。寿命が増し容色が増すにつれて、寿命二十歳の人々の子らは寿命四十歳となるであろう。
