But at that time the Buddha was sitting immersed in some kind of meditation. And a divine maiden of Great King Vessavaṇa named Bhūjati was attending on the Buddha, standing there paying homage to him with joined palms. I hope that sister bowed to you? Do you remember what she said?” “She did bow, lord of gods, and I remember what she said. ところが、そのとき世尊（ bhagavā）は、ある三昧（samādhi）に入って坐しておられました。そして、大王ヴェッサヴァナの侍女で、ブージャティーという名の天女が、世尊のもとに侍り、合掌して礼拝しながら立っておりました。「願わくば、尊師よ、その姉妹は世尊に礼拝いたしましたでしょうか。世尊は彼女の言葉をお憶えでございましょうか」と。「天の主よ、その姉妹はわたしに礼拝いたした。わたしもまた彼女の言葉を憶えておる。そしてわたしは、尊者よ、あなたの車輪の響きによって、その三昧より出たのである」と。そこでわたしは彼女、ブージャティーにこのように言いました。「姉妹よ、わたしに代わって世尊に礼拝いたしてください」と。
