Then Jotipāla went to the king and exchanged greetings with him. When the greetings and polite conversation were over, he sat down to one side, and the king said to him, “May you, Jotipāla, manage my affairs—please don’t turn me down! I shall appoint you to your father’s position, and anoint you as Steward.” So the king anointed him as Steward and appointed him to his father’s position. そこでジョーティパーラは王のもとへ赴き、王と挨拶を交わした。互いに親しみある言葉を交わし終えると、一方の傍らに座した。一方の傍らに座したジョーティパーラ青年に、ディサンパティ王はこう言った。「ジョーティパーラよ、どうか我が政務を司ってくれ。断わらないでほしい。そなたを父君の位に就け、執事官（ゴーヴィンダ）として灌頂を授けよう」と。かくしてディサンパティ王はジョーティパーラ青年に執事官としての灌頂を授け、父君の位に任じた。かくして任じられたる執事官ジョーティパーラは、父君が司っていた諸々の政務をも、またその他の政務をも、ともに取り仕切った。
