「神々の主よ、私もまた、かの世尊の八つの真実の讃辞を聞くことができれば、まことに善いことでございましょう」と。「承知いたしました、大梵天よ」と申して、神々の主サッカは、梵天サナンクマーラのために、世尊の八つの真実の讃辞を繰り返し説かれた。
1．神々の集会
「尊者よ、幾日か以前のこと——雨安居（うあんご）の終わりに行われる自恣（じし）の日、十五日の布薩（ふさつ）の満月の夜のことでございます——三十三天（さんじゅうさんてん）の神々がことごとく、善法堂（ぜんぽうどう）において集い、座に就いておられました。天上の大いなる集会が四方を囲んで座し、また四大王（しだいおう）たちが四方の座に就いておられました。
