Such is the householder-treasure that appeared to King Mahāsudassana. The power of clairvoyance manifested in him as a result of past deeds, by which he sees treasure troves, both owned and ownerless. He approached the king and said, ‘Relax, sire. アーナンダよ、マハースダッサナ王のもとに、かくのごとき居士宝（がはぱてぃらたな）が出現した。彼には過去の業（カンマ）の果報として生じた天眼（ディッバチャック）が顕れており、その力によって、主のある宝蔵も主のない宝蔵も、ことごとく見通すことができた。彼は王のもとに参上して、こう申し上げた。「大王よ、どうぞご安心くださいませ。財宝に関わる一切の事柄は、私がお引き受けいたしましょう」と。
アーナンダよ、かつてこのようなことがあった。マハースダッサナ王は、その居士宝を試みようとして、舟に乗り込み、ガンジス河の流れの中ほどへと漕ぎ出された。そして居士宝に向かって、こう仰せになった。「居士よ、余は金銀財宝を必要としておる」と。すると居士宝は申し上げた。「それならば、大王よ――」
