Atha kho cundo kammāraputto bhagavato adhivāsanaṁ viditvā uṭṭhāyāsanā bhagavantaṁ abhivādetvā padakkhiṇaṁ katvā pakkāmi. Atha kho cundo kammāraputto tassā rattiyā accayena sake nivesane paṇītaṁ khādanīyaṁ bhojanīyaṁ paṭiyādāpetvā pahūtañca sūkaramaddavaṁ bhagavato kālaṁ ārocāpesi: “kālo, bhante, niṭṭhitaṁ bhattan”ti. そののち、鍛冶師の子チュンダは、世尊が承諾されたことを知り、座より立ち上がって世尊を礼拝し、右遶（うぎょう）して退去した。そして夜が明けると、鍛冶師の子チュンダは、自らの邸において精妙なる固き食（khādanīya）と柔らかき食（bhojanīya）を調えさせ、また豊かな量の柔らかき猪肉（sūkaramaddava）を用意させて、世尊に時を告げさせた。「尊師よ、時至れり。食事の用意は整いました」と。そこで世尊は、午前の時に、衣を着け鉢と衣（pattacīvara）を持って、比丘の僧伽（saṅgha）とともに鍛冶師の子チュンダの邸へと赴かれた。赴かれて、設けられた座にお着きになった。
