「バラモンよ、戒を具えた出家修行者たちを対象として、常に捧げられる吉祥の布施（anukulayañña）、これこそが、三種の供犠の成就と十六の具足を備えた大祭祀に比べて、労苦も少なく、煩わしい準備も少なく、しかも果報は大きく、功徳もまた大きいのである。」
「ゴータマ殿よ、いかなる因（hetu）があり、いかなる縁（paccaya）があって、その常施（niccadāna）なる吉祥の布施が、三種の供犠の成就と十六の具足を備えた大祭祀に比べて、労苦も少なく、準備も少なく、しかも果報は大きく、功徳もまた大きいのでありましょうか。」
