Then Pokkharasāti saw, attained, understood, and fathomed the Dhamma. そのときバラモンのポッカラサーティは、法（ダンマ）をまのあたりに見、法を体得し、法を了知し、法の深みに達し、疑惑（ヴィチキッチャー）を超え、迷いを去り、確信を得て、師の教えにおいて他に依ることなく自立した者となった。そして世尊に向かって、このように申し上げた。
「ゴータマ様よ、じつに素晴らしい。ゴータマ様よ、じつに素晴らしい。たとえば、倒れたものを起こし、覆われたものを開き、迷える者に道を示し、あるいは暗闇の中に灯火をかかげて、眼ある者は色（かたち）を見るであろうと――まさにそのように、ゴータマ様は、さまざまな方便をもって法（ダンマ）を明らかにしてくださいました。かくして私は、息子どもとともに……」
