When the Buddha’s birth mother passed away, she nurtured him at her own breast. And the Buddha has been very helpful to Mahāpajāpati. 世尊の生母（せいぼ）が世を去られたとき、マハーパジャーパティーは世尊を己が乳房にて養い育てられました。また、世尊はマハーパジャーパティー・ゴータミーに対し、はかり知れぬ恩恵をお与えになっておられます。世尊のおかげをもちまして、マハーパジャーパティー・ゴータミーは仏（ブッダ）に帰依し、法（ダンマ）に帰依し、僧伽（サンガ）に帰依するに至りました。世尊のおかげをもちまして、マハーパジャーパティー・ゴータミーは、生きとし生けるものを害することを離れ、与えられざるものを取ることを離れ、愛欲における邪なる行いを離れ、偽りを語ることを離れ、穀酒・果実酒・諸々の酔いの元となる放逸の因たる飲み物を断ち離れておられます。世尊のおかげをもちまして、マハーパジャーパティー・ゴータミーは、仏（ブッダ）に対して揺るぎなき浄信（アヴェッチャッパサーダ）を具え、法（ダンマ）に対して揺るぎなき浄信を具えておられます。
