あなた（カンキー尊者）は戒（シーラ）を守り、長年にわたって戒を積み重ねた方であり、そのような戒を具えておられます……。あなたは言葉が巧みで、よく発音され、洗練されて明瞭であり、意味を的確に伝える雄弁な声を具えておられます……。あなたは多くの師の師であり、三百人の若き学徒（マーナヴァカ）に聖典の讃歌（マンタ）を教えておられます……。あなたはコーサラ国の王パセーナディによって、尊重され、敬われ、礼遇され、供養され、崇められておられます。バラモンのポッカラサーティによっても、同様に尊重され、敬われ、礼遇され、供養され、崇められておられます……。あなたはオーパーサーダに住しておられますが、そこはコーサラ王パセーナディより賜った封土（サッタッサダ）にして、生きとし生けるものが満ち溢れ、草も薪も水も豊かな地であります……。
