Mount the heavenly chariot, great king, without wavering!’ King Nimi consented with silence. 「大王よ、揺るぐことなく、この天の乗り物にお乗りください」と。アーナンダよ、ニミ王は沈黙をもってこれを承諾された。かくしてアーナンダよ、帝釈天（サッカ）は、王が承諾されたことを知るや、あたかも力ある者が縮めた腕を伸ばし、あるいは伸ばした腕を縮めるがごとく、たちまちニミ王の御前より姿を消し、三十三天（ターヴァティンサ）の神々の中に現れた。神々はニミ王を自らの王として仰ぎ奉らんと願った。かの王は法（ダンマ）にかなった王、法を治める王、偉大なる王にして、法の上にしかと立つお方である。バラモンや居士（がじ）たちに対し、また都の民にも地方の民にも、正しく法をもって接し給う。そして十四日・十五日の布薩（ウポーサタ）を守り……
