“Who took porridge from the pot and sauce from the pan, ate it, and left?” “It was the Buddha Kassapa, my dear.” Then Ghaṭīkāra thought, Another time, great king, I was staying near that same market town of Vebhaliṅga. “Who’s stripping the grass from the workshop?” “It’s the mendicants, sister. 「誰が鍋から粥を取り、鍋から汁を取って食べ、座より立ちて去ったのか」「それはカッサパ（Kassapa）世尊、応供（アラハン）にして正等覚者（サンマーサンブッダ）でございます、坊ちゃま」
そのとき、大王よ、陶工ガティカーラ（Ghaṭīkāra）の心にかくの如き思いが起こった。
また別の時のことでありました、大王よ。私はかの同じヴェーバリンガ（Vebhaliṅga）という市場町の近くに住んでおりました。「誰が仕事場の草を剥ぎ取っているのか」「比丘（びく）たちでございます、お姉さま。カッサパ世尊、応供にして正等覚者の庵（いおり）が雨漏りしているのでございます」「お持ちください、尊者方よ。お持ちください、いとしき方々よ」
そこでガティカーラは両親のもとへ参り、こう申しました。「誰が仕事場の草を剥ぎ取ったのか」「比丘たちでございますよ、坊ちゃま。どうやら……」
