Āraññikenāvuso, bhikkhunā abhidhamme abhivinaye yogo karaṇīyo. Santāvuso, āraññikaṁ bhikkhuṁ abhidhamme abhivinaye pañhaṁ pucchitāro. A wilderness monk should make an effort in regards to the teaching and training. There are those who will question a wilderness monk about the teaching and training. 森林に住む比丘（āraññika）は、法（アビダンマ）と律（アビヴィナヤ）に励まなければならない。友よ、森林に住む比丘に対して、法と律について問いを発する者たちがいる。もし森林に住む比丘が、法と律についての問いを受けて答えに窮するならば、次のように言う者たちが現れるであろう。「この尊者は森林に一人、自由に住んでおられるが、法と律について問われて答えられないとは、いったい何のためであろうか」と。それゆえに、森林に住む比丘は、法と律に励まなければならない。また、森林に住む比丘は、かの寂静なる解脱（ヴィモッカ）――色（ルーパ）を超えて無色（アルーパ）に至る――を修習しなければならない。
