かくして、その刹那（せつな）、その瞬間、その時において、諸長老のことはブラフマー天（梵天界）にいたるまで知れわたった。
「まことにヴァッジー人は幸いなるかな。ヴァッジーの民はいかに幸いなるかな。如来（にょらい）・応供（おうぐ）・正等覚者（しょうとうかくしゃ）がそこに住しておられ、さらにはこの三人の良家の子弟——アヌルッダ長老、ナンディヤ長老、そしてキミラ長老——もまたそこにおられるのだから」と。
ディーガ・パラジャナという夜叉（やくしゃ）の声を聞いて、地天（ちてん）の神々はその声を唱和した。地天の神々の声を聞いて、四大王天（してんのうてん）の神々もまた……（中略）……
