比丘たちよ、家が長く富を保てぬときは、必ずや次の四つの理由のうち一つ、あるいは複数によるものである。その四つとは何か。失われたものを求めず、古びたものを修繕せず、飲食において節度なく過ごし、あるいは不品行な女あるいは男を主として立てることである。家が長く富を保てぬときは、必ずやこの四つの理由のうち一つ、あるいは複数によるものである。また、家が長く富を保ち続けるときも、必ずや次の四つの理由のうち一つ、あるいは複数によるものである。その四つとは何か。失われたものを求め、古びたものを修繕し……
