“Mendicants, a noble disciple who has four things is said to be rich, affluent, and wealthy. What four? It’s when a noble disciple has experiential confidence in the Buddha … the teaching … the Saṅgha … And they have the ethical conduct loved by the noble ones … leading to immersion. A noble disciple who has these four things is said to be rich, affluent, and wealthy.”
「比丘たちよ、四つのものを具えた聖なる弟子は、富める者、豊かなる者、裕福なる者と称されるのである。いかなる四つか。すなわち、聖なる弟子が仏に対して体験に基づく浄信を有すること……法に対して……僧に対して……そして、聖者たちの愛でる、三昧へと導く戒を有すること、これである。この四つのものを具えた聖なる弟子こそ、富める者、豊かなる者、裕福なる者と称されるのである。」
