At one time the Buddha was staying near Rājagaha, on the Vulture’s Peak Mountain in the Boar’s Cave. かつて、世尊は王舎城の耆闍崛山（ぎじゃくっせん）、猪の窟の近くに滞在しておられた。そのとき、世尊はサーリプッタ尊者に告げられた。「サーリプッタよ、いかなる功徳を思念して、漏尽（ろじん）せる比丘は、現世においてなお、如来もしくはその教えに対して、この上なき恭敬をもって行じ続けるのか。」「世尊よ、それは無上の軛からの安穏（あんのん）を思念してこそ、漏尽せる比丘は、現世においてなお、如来もしくはその教えに対して、この上なき恭敬をもって行じ続けるのでございます。」
