It’s when an anointed aristocratic king’s eldest son is well born on both his mother’s and father’s side, of pure descent, with irrefutable and impeccable genealogy back to the seventh paternal generation. 比丘たちよ、灌頂を受けた刹帝利の王の長子が、五つの要素を具えているとき、王位を望む者となる。その五つとは何か。
すなわち、灌頂を受けた刹帝利の王の長子が、母方・父方の両系において良き家柄に生まれ、第七世の父祖にまで遡っても汚れなく、誰人にも論駁され得ぬ清浄な血統を有している場合である。彼は端正にして眉目秀麗、気品に満ち、この上ない美貌を備えている。彼は両親から深く愛され、慕われている。彼は国中の都鄙の民から深く愛され、慕われている。そして彼は諸々の事において鍛錬を積み、熟達している。
