“Pañcimāni, bhikkhave, dhanāni. Katamāni pañca? Saddhādhanaṁ, sīladhanaṁ, sutadhanaṁ, cāgadhanaṁ, paññādhanaṁ. Katamañca, bhikkhave, saddhādhanaṁ? Idha, bhikkhave, ariyasāvako saddho hoti, saddahati tathāgatassa bodhiṁ: ‘itipi so bhagavā …pe… satthā devamanussānaṁ buddho bhagavā’ti. Idaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, saddhādhanaṁ. Katamañca, bhikkhave, sīladhanaṁ? Idha, bhikkhave, ariyasāvako pāṇātipātā paṭivirato hoti …pe… surāmerayamajjapamādaṭṭhānā paṭivirato hoti. Idaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, sīladhanaṁ.
“Mendicants, there are these five kinds of wealth. What five? The wealth of faith, ethics, learning, generosity, and wisdom. And what is the wealth of faith? It’s when a noble disciple has faith in the Realized One’s awakening: ‘That Blessed One is perfected, a fully awakened Buddha, accomplished in knowledge and conduct, holy, knower of the world, supreme guide for those fit for training, teacher of gods and humans, awakened, blessed.’ This is called the wealth of faith. And what is the wealth
「比丘たちよ、五つの財がある。何が五つであるか。信の財、戒の財、聞の財、捨の財、慧の財である。では、信の財とは何か。ここに聖なる弟子が如来の覚りに対して信を有する。すなわち、『かの世尊は、阿羅漢にして、正等覚者にして、明行足にして、善逝にして、世間解にして、無上士にして、調御丈夫にして、天人師にして、仏にして、世尊である』と。これを信の財と呼ぶ。では、次の財とは何か。」
