比丘たちよ、溢れ出る功徳、溢れ出る善根には、この五種がある。それらは幸福を育み、天界へと導くものであり、幸楽を熟させ、天上へと誘うものである。また、愛すべきもの、望ましきもの、喜ばしきものへと、そして福祉と幸福へと導くものである。その五種とは何か。比丘が衣を受用しつつ、無量なる心の三昧に入りて住するとき、施主の功徳の溢れ出ることもまた無量となる。食を受用しつつ……住処を受用しつつ……臥具・坐具を受用しつつ……病者のための薬・資具を受用しつつ、無量なる心の三昧に入りて住するとき、施主の功徳の溢れ出ることもまた無量となる。これらが、溢れ出る功徳、溢れ出る善根の五種である。
