“Mendicants, a faithful gentleman should go to see these four inspiring places. What four? Thinking: ‘Here the Realized One was born!’—that is an inspiring place. 比丘たちよ、信心ある善男子は、これら四つの霊場を訪れるべきである。いかなる四つか。「ここに如来は誕生し給えり」と思念しつつ——これが霊場である。「ここに如来は無上正等覚を成就し給えり」と思念しつつ——これが霊場である。「ここに如来は無上の法輪を転じ給えり」と思念しつつ——これが霊場である。「ここに如来は有余なき涅槃界において般涅槃し給えり」と思念しつつ——これが霊場である。
