“Mendicants, there are these four ways of making unprejudiced decisions. What four? Making decisions unprejudiced by favoritism, hostility, stupidity, and cowardice. These are the four ways of making unprejudiced decisions. If you don’t act against the teaching out of favoritism, hostility, cowardice, and stupidity, your fame swells, like the moon in the waxing fortnight.”
「比丘たちよ、偏りなく決断を下す四つの道がある。いかなる四つか。えこひいき、憎しみ、愚かさ、そして臆病によって偏ることなく決断を下すことである。これらが、偏りなく決断を下す四つの道である。もし汝らが、えこひいき、憎しみ、臆病、そして愚かさによって法に背くことなければ、汝らの名声は、満ちゆく月の如く、ますます輝き広がるであろう。」
