比丘たちよ、三つの特質を備えた優れた王の駿馬は、王に仕えるにふさわしく、王の乗馬となるにふさわしく、王の御料として数えられる。その三つとは何か。優れた王の駿馬が、美しく、力強く、そして俊足であることである。これら三つの特質を備えた優れた王の駿馬は、王に仕えるにふさわしい。……同じように、三つの功徳を具えた比丘は、諸天への供養を受けるにふさわしく、歓待を受けるにふさわしく、浄施を受けるにふさわしく、合掌して礼拝されるにふさわしく、そして世における無上の福田である。
