Ordination by messenger At that time the courtesan Aḍḍhakāsī had gone forth with the nuns. She wanted to go to Sāvatthī to get the full ordination in the presence of the Buddha. Some scoundrels heard and besieged the road. When Aḍḍhakāsī heard she sent a message to the Buddha, saying, “I want the full ordination. What should I do?”
