Not perceiving form internally, someone sees forms externally, limitless, both pretty and ugly. Mastering them, they perceive: ‘I know and see.’ This is the fourth dimension of mastery. 内に色想（しきそう）なき者が、外に色（しき）を見る。その数量は無辺にして、美醜いずれをも含む。これらを制して、「我は知り、我は見る」と覚知する——これが第四の勝処（しょうしょ）である。
内に色想なき者が、外に青色（しょうしき）の色を見る。青の色相（しきそう）を有し、青の顕現を有し、青の光輝を有する色を。たとえば、亜麻の花が青く、青の色相を有し、青の顕現を有し、青の光輝を有するがごとく、あるいは、バーラーナシー（波羅奈）産の両面を磨き上げた布が青く、青の色相を有し、青の顕現を有し、青の光輝を有するがごとく——それとまさに同様に、内に色想なき者が、外に青の色相・青の顕現・青の光輝を有する青色の色を見る。これらを制して……
