三つの善の根（kusala-mūla）あり。無貪（alobha）は善の根なり、無瞋（adosa）は善の根なり、無癡（amoha）は善の根なり。
*いかなるものが、了解しがたき三つの法（dhamma）なるか。*
三つの出離の界（nissaraṇīyā dhātuyo）あり。欲楽（kāma）よりの出離、それすなわち出家（nekkhamma）なり。色（rūpa）よりの出離、それすなわち無色（arūpa）なり。およそいかなる生じたるものも、形成されたるものも、縁起によりて生起したるものも、その滅（nirodha）こそが出離なり。
*いかなるものが、生ぜしむべき三つの法なるか。*
真人（sappurisa）に親しみ交わること、正法（saddhamma）を聴聞すること、法随法（dhammānudhamma）を修行すること。
三つの智（ñāṇa）あり。過去に関する智、未来に関する智、現在に関する智なり。
