しかるに、かの人はアスラ（阿修羅）の群れに生まれたのである。これが、清浄行（ブラフマチャリヤ）を修める機会を失した第四の悪時（アッカーナ）である。さらにまた……かくのごとく……かの人は、長寿天（ディーガーユカ）と呼ばれる諸天の一に生まれたのである。これが、清浄行を修める機会を失した第五の悪時である。さらにまた……かくのごとく……「かの者はわれに害をなす」と思いて、瞋恚（アーガータ）を心に結ぶ……しかるに、かの人は辺地（パッチャンティマ）に生まれ、文字を解せぬ異民族（ミラッカ）のなかにあって、比丘・比丘尼・優婆塞（ウパーサカ）・優婆夷（ウパーシカー）の往来することなき地に生を受けたのである。これが、清浄行を修める機会を失した第六の悪時である。さらにまた……かくのごとく……
