Santāvuso, sattā ekattakāyā nānattasaññino seyyathāpi devā ābhassarā. Ayaṁ tatiyā viññāṇaṭṭhiti. Santāvuso, sattā ekattakāyā ekattasaññino seyyathāpi devā subhakiṇhā. Ayaṁ catutthī viññāṇaṭṭhiti. Santāvuso, sattā sabbaso rūpasaññānaṁ samatikkamā paṭighasaññānaṁ atthaṅgamā nānattasaññānaṁ amanasikārā ‘ananto ākāso’ti ākāsānañcāyatanūpagā. Ayaṁ pañcamī viññāṇaṭṭhiti. 友よ、身体は一つにして知覚（サンニャー）を異にする有情（さとり）たちがいる。たとえば光音天（ābhassarā）の神々のごとし。これが第三の識住（viññāṇaṭṭhiti）である。友よ、身体は一つにして知覚もまた一つなる有情たちがいる。たとえば遍浄天（subhakiṇhā）の神々のごとし。これが第四の識住である。友よ、あらゆる色の知覚（rūpasaññā）をことごとく超え、障碍の知覚（paṭighasaññā）の滅尽により、種々なる知覚（nānattasaññā）に心を向けることなく、「虚空は無辺なり」と観じて、空無辺処（ākāsānañcāyatana）に至った有情たちがいる。これが第五の識住である。友よ、あらゆる空無辺処をことごとく超えて、「識は無辺なり」と観じて、識無辺処（viññāṇañcāyatana）に至った有情たちがいる。これが第六の識住である。
