Puna caparaṁ, āvuso, bhikkhu ye te lābhā dhammikā dhammaladdhā antamaso pattapariyāpannamattampi, tathārūpehi lābhehi appaṭivibhattabhogī hoti sīlavantehi sabrahmacārīhi sādhāraṇabhogī. Ayampi dhammo sāraṇīyo …pe… ekībhāvāya saṁvattati. Puna caparaṁ, āvuso, bhikkhu yāni tāni sīlāni akhaṇḍāni acchiddāni asabalāni akammāsāni bhujissāni viññuppasatthāni aparāmaṭṭhāni samādhisaṁvattanikāni, tathārūpesu sīlesu sīlasāmaññagato viharati sabrahmacārīhi āvi ceva raho ca. Ayampi dhammo sāraṇīyo …pe… ekībh

Furthermore, a mendicant shares without reservation any material things they have gained by legitimate means, even the food placed in the alms-bowl, using them in common with their ethical spiritual companions. This too is a warm-hearted quality. Furthermore, a mendicant lives according to the precepts shared with their spiritual companions, both in public and in private. Those precepts are intact, impeccable, spotless, and unmarred, liberating, praised by sensible people, not mistaken, and lead

さらにまた、道友（どうゆう）たちよ、比丘は正当な手段によって得たいかなる利得（りとく）についても――たとえそれが鉢（はち）に収まるほどのわずかなものであっても――それを独り占めにすることなく、戒（かい）を具えた梵行（ぼんぎょう）の友らとともに等しく分かち合う。これもまた、和合（わごう）をもたらす温かき法（ほう）である。さらにまた、道友たちよ、比丘は梵行の友らとともに保つべき諸々の戒を、公（おおやけ）においても私（わたくし）においても、ともに守りながら住する。それらの戒とは、破れることなく、欠けることなく、汚れることなく、斑（まだら）なく、束縛を離れた自由なるものにして、智者（ちしゃ）の称讃するところであり、邪見に捉われず、三昧（さんまい）へと導くものである。
