「比丘たちよ、如来（タターガタ）はかつての生において、かつての存在において、かつての宿において、人間として生を受けていた時、長き歳月の間に離れ離れとなり、久しく遠く隔たっていた親族・友人・心を通わせた者・朋友たちを再び引き合わせる者であった。母を子と引き合わせ、子を母と引き合わせ、父を子と引き合わせ、子を父と引き合わせ、兄弟を兄弟と引き合わせ、兄弟を姉妹と引き合わせ、姉妹を兄弟と引き合わせ、姉妹を姉妹と引き合わせ、喜びをもって彼らを一つに集めた。かかる業（カンマ）を積みたるがゆえに、天上の世界に生を受け……」
