Possessing this mark, if he stays at home he becomes a wheel-turning monarch. And what does he obtain as king? He gets delicious and tasty cooked and fresh foods, and drinks that are sweet and succulent. That’s what he obtains as king. And what does he obtain as Buddha? He gets delicious and tasty cooked and fresh foods, and drinks that are sweet and succulent. That’s what he obtains as Buddha.” The Buddha spoke this matter. On this it is said: as a householder, that’s what that means.
この相（そう）を具（そな）えた者が、もし在家にとどまるならば、転輪聖王（てんりんじょうおう）となる。では、王となりて何を得るか。王となれば、精妙な味わいの、噛み物・食べ物・嘗め物・飲み物、あらゆる美味（びみ）を得ることができる。王としてかくのごとき果報を得るのである。では、仏陀（ぶっだ）となりて何を得るか。仏陀となれば、精妙な味わいの、噛み物・食べ物・嘗め物・飲み物、あらゆる美味を得ることができる。仏陀としてかくのごとき果報を得るのである。」世尊はこの義（ぎ）を説きたまえり。これについて、次のように説かれる——在家の者にとりても、まさにその義（こころ）は輝きを放つ。
