Sammukhā metaṁ, āvuso, bhagavato sutaṁ sammukhā paṭiggahitaṁ: Na ca, bhante, bhagavā kāmesu kāmasukhallikānuyogamanuyutto hīnaṁ gammaṁ pothujjanikaṁ anariyaṁ anatthasaṁhitaṁ, na ca attakilamathānuyogamanuyutto dukkhaṁ anariyaṁ anatthasaṁhitaṁ. “aṭṭhānametaṁ anavakāso yaṁ ekissā lokadhātuyā dve arahanto sammāsambuddhā apubbaṁ acarimaṁ uppajjeyyuṁ, netaṁ ṭhānaṁ vijjatī”’ti. Kaccāhaṁ, bhante, evaṁ puṭṭho evaṁ byākaramāno vuttavādī ceva bhagavato homi, na ca bhagavantaṁ abhūtena abbhācikkhāmi, dhamm

And I have also heard and learned this in the presence of the Buddha: The Buddha doesn’t indulge in sensual pleasures, which are low, crude, ordinary, ignoble, and pointless. And he doesn’t indulge in self-mortification, which is painful, ignoble, and pointless. “It’s impossible for two perfected ones, fully awakened Buddhas to arise in the same solar system at the same time.”’ Answering this way, I trust that I repeated what the Buddha has said, and didn’t misrepresent him with an untruth. また、私は世尊の御前にて、じかにこのことを聞き、じかに受け持ちました。「世尊は、下劣にして粗野なる、凡俗の、聖なるものにあらず、利益なき欲楽への耽溺（カーマスカッラーヌヨーガ）に従いたもうことなく、また、苦痛にして聖なるものにあらず、利益なき自己苦行への耽溺（アッタキラマタ―ヌヨーガ）に従いたもうことなし。そして、『一つの世界領域（ローカダートゥ）において、二人の阿羅漢・正等覚者（アラハント・サンマーサンブッダ）が前後なく同時に出現することは、あり得ず、その余地はない』と。」友よ、このように問われて、このように答える私は、まことに世尊の説かれたことを語り、虚偽をもって世尊を誹謗するものではありません。
