‘But how do you describe in your tradition that the origin of the world came about anomalously?’ But they are stumped by my question, and they even question me in return. 「しかし、あなたがた尊者方は、いかなる形で世界の起源が偶然に生じたと説く教師の教えを示されるのか」と。されど彼らは私の問いに答えられず、答えられぬまま逆に私に問い返してくる。そこで私は問われて答える。「友よ、非想天（アサンニャサッタ）と名づけられる神々が存在する」と。
さて、バッガヴァよ、このように説き、このように語る私を、一部の沙門・婆羅門たちは、虚偽にして空虚、偽りにして真実ならぬことをもって、次のように誹謗する。「尊師よ、私は世尊に対してまことに深く信頼を抱いております。世尊は私が清浄なる解脱（スッバ・ヴィモッカ）を具足して住することができるよう、そのように法を説いてくださることができましょう」と。
「バッガヴァよ、それはまことに難きことである。汝は異なる見解（アンニャ・ディッティ）を持ちながら……」
