We who were created by that Divinity are impermanent, not lasting, short-lived, liable to pass away, and have come to this place.” “I am the Divinity, the Great Divinity, the Vanquisher, the Unvanquished, the Universal Seer, the Wielder of Power, God Almighty, the Maker, the Creator, the First, the Begetter, the Controller, the Father of those who have been born and those yet to be born. And these beings were created by me. Is this how you describe in your tradition that the origin of the world
「かの梵天によって創られたわれらは、無常（anicca）にして、永続せず、短命にして、滅び去る性質のものであり、この状態へと至ったのである」と。
「われこそは梵天（brahmā）、大梵天（mahābrahmā）、征服者（abhibhū）、無敵者、あまねく見る者、自在に力を振るう者、主宰神（issara）、作り手、創造者、最上者、生み出す者、支配者、既に生まれたるものと未だ生まれざるものとの父（pitā）である。これらの有情（sattā）はわれによって創られたのである。汝ら尊師たちよ、世界の起源（aggañña）について、主宰神の所作として、梵天の所作として、師祖の伝承として、このように説くのであるか」と。
彼らはかく答えた。「友よ、ゴータマ尊者よ、まさに尊者ゴータマが仰せになるとおりに、われらも聞き及んでおります」と。
バッガヴァよ、わたしもまた世界の根源（aggañña）を知っている。そしてそれを知りつつも、さらにそれを超えて――
