Bhaggava, I understand the origin of the world. So I answer them, ‘There comes a time when, reverends, after a very long period has passed, this cosmos contracts. 「バッガヴァよ、わたしは世界の起源を知っている。それゆえ、そのように問われたとき、わたしはこのように答える。
『友よ、はるかに長い時の流れが過ぎ去ったのち、この世界（ロカ）が収縮する時が来る。世界が収縮するにつれて、衆生（サッタ）の多くは光音天（アーバッサラ）へと向かう定めとなる。かの界において、彼らは意によって生まれ（マノーマヤ）、喜悦（ピーティ）を食（じき）とし、自ら光を放ち、虚空を自在に遊行し、清浄なる光輝のうちに安住して、はるかに長い歳月をそのままに過ごす。
わたしはこのことを知っており、さらにそれを超えたところにあるものをも知っている。しかるに、かかる知解に対してわたしは執著（パラーマーサ）せず、執著なきがゆえに、内なる安寧（ニッブティ）がおのずから証知される。かくのごとく正しく知ることによって、如来（タターガタ）は衰滅に陥ることがない。』」
