Sunakkhatta the Licchavi heard about this. So he went to see the aristocrat of Kuru in the charnel ground on the clump of vetiver. There he struck him with his fist three times, ‘Reverend aristocrat of Kuru, do you know your destiny?’ Then the aristocrat of Kuru got up, rubbing his back with his hands, and said, ‘Reverend Sunakkhatta, I know my own destiny. バッガヴァよ、リッチャヴィ族の子スナッカッタはこのことを耳にした。そこでバッガヴァよ、リッチャヴィ族の子スナッカッタは、ビーラナ草の茂みにある火葬場へと赴き、裸行者（アチェーラ）コーラッカッティヤのもとへと近づいた。近づいてから、その裸行者コーラッカッティヤの身を三度、拳をもって叩いて問うた。「友よ、コーラッカッティヤよ、汝は自らの行方（ガティ）を知れるか」と。
バッガヴァよ、すると裸行者コーラッカッティヤは、両手で背中をさすりながら起き上がり、こう語った。「友よ、スナッカッタよ、わたしは自らの行方を知っている。カーラカンジャ（Kālakañja）と呼ばれる阿修羅（アスラ）たちがいる。あらゆる阿修羅の群れの中でも最も卑しきその境涯に、わたしは生まれ堕ちたのだ」と。かく語り終えると、彼はその場に仰向けに倒れ伏した。
