――パーティカプッタが敗れたことを知るや、彼（使者）はその集会に戻り、こう告げた。「諸賢よ、裸行者（アチェーラ）パーティカプッタは敗れました。彼は『今まいります、尊者よ、今まいります』と申しながら、その場でのたうちまわるばかりで、座からすら立ち上がることができないのです」と。
このように語られたとき、バッガヴァよ、私はその集会に向かってこう告げた。
「諸賢よ、裸行者パーティカプッタが私のもとへ面前に出てまいることは、かなわぬことである――彼がかの言葉を捨てず、かの意図を捨てず、かの見解（ディッティ）を手放さぬ限りは。もし彼がこう思うならば……」
