“Who are you, reverend?” “Sir, I am the chieftain Pāyāsi.” “Didn’t you have the view that there is no afterlife, no beings are reborn spontaneously, and there’s no fruit or result of good and bad deeds?” “It’s true, sir, I did have such a view. But Master Kassapa the Prince dissuaded me from that harmful misconception.” So when Venerable Gavampati returned to the human realm he made that announcement. 「あなたは、どなたですか」
「尊者よ、わたくしはパーヤーシという王族の者でございます」
「あなたはかつて、このような見解をお持ちではありませんでしたか——『かくのごとく、来世（パロ・ローカ）は存在せず、化生（オパパーティカ）の衆生も存在せず、善悪の業（カンマ）にはその果報（パラ・ヴィパーカ）もない』と」
「尊者よ、まことにわたくしはそのような見解を抱いておりました。しかしながら、クマーラカッサパ師が、わたくしをその邪悪な邪見（ディッティ）から離れるよう、諭してくださったのでございます」
かくして尊者ガヴァンパティは人間の世界に帰り来たり、このことを告げ知らせた。そのころパーヤーシ王族の長は、セータビヤーの婆羅門（バラモン）と居士（ガハパティ）たちに囲まれながら、シンサパーの林へと赴き、尊者クマーラカッサパのもとに近づいていった。
