長部経典（DN22 §13.8–14.6）
When they have doubt in them, they understand: ‘I have doubt in me.’ When they don’t have doubt in them, they understand: ‘I don’t have doubt in me.’ They understand how doubt arises; how, when it’s already arisen, it’s given up; and how, once it’s given up, it doesn’t arise again in the future. 内に疑惑（vicikicchā）のある場合には、「われに疑惑あり」と知り、内に疑惑のない場合には、「われに疑惑なし」と知る。また、いまだ生じていない疑惑がいかにして生じるか、その因縁を知り、すでに生じた疑惑がいかにして捨断されるか、その道理を知り、さらに捨断された疑惑がいかにして将来ふたたび生じることなきか、その次第を知る。
かくして修行者は、内なる諸法（dhamma）において諸法を観察しつつ住し、あるいは外なる諸法において諸法を観察しつつ住し、あるいは内外いずれの諸法においても諸法を観察しつつ住する。
４・２ 諸蘊（khandha）について
さらにまた、比丘（bhikkhu）は諸法のある側面を観察しつつ、瞑想（bhāvanā）に住する。
