それゆえ、わたしは求め（パリエーサナー）には二種類があると説いたのである。「神々の王よ、わたしは身の行ない（カーヤサマーチャーラ）にも二種類があると説く――修すべきものと、修すべからざるものとが。神々の王よ、口の行ない（ヴァチーサマーチャーラ）にも、わたしは二種類があると説く――このように実践する比丘こそ、戒律（パーティモッカ）による律儀（サンヴァラ）のために修行しているといわれるのである。」
このようにして、世尊はサッカ（帝釈天）の問いに答えられた。神々の王サッカは、世尊の御言葉を喜び、随喜してこう申し上げた。
「まことにそのとおりでございます、世尊よ。まことにそのとおりでございます、善逝（スガタ）よ。世尊の答えを拝聴いたしまして、わたしの疑惑（カンカー）は晴れ、迷い（カタンカター）は消え去りました。」
