“Please do so, Steward, at your convenience.” 2. 「では、ゴーヴィンダよ、御都合のよろしい折に。」
さて、尊者よ、神々の主（サッカ）たる帝釈天（インドラ）は、三十三天（タービャティンサ）の神々の喜びを見て取り、かの神々に向かってこう告げた。
「皆よ、あなた方は、かの世尊（バガヴァント）の八つの如実なる讃嘆を聞きたいとお思いになるか。」
「まことに、聞きたく存じます。」
そこで、尊者よ、神々の主たる帝釈天は、三十三天の神々に対し、世尊の八つの如実なる讃嘆を次のように述べた。
かくて、マハーゴーヴィンダ婆羅門（まはーごーゔぃんだばらもん）は、かの六人の刹帝利（カッティヤ）の王たちのもとに赴き、同じ提案を申し述べたところ、同じ答えが返ってきた。またかれは七人の富裕なる婆羅門たちと、七百人の沐浴を了えた入門者たちのもとにも赴き、同様に申し述べた。
