‘addhā idaṁ tassa bhagavato vacanaṁ; tassa ca therassa suggahitan’ti. Idaṁ, bhikkhave, catutthaṁ mahāpadesaṁ dhāreyyātha. Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro mahāpadese dhāreyyāthā”ti. ‘amukasmiṁ nāma āvāse eko thero bhikkhu viharati bahussuto āgatāgamo dhammadharo vinayadharo mātikādharo.
