They’re like a scarlet mallow flower that’s red, with red color and red appearance. Or a cloth from Varanasi that’s smoothed on both sides, red, with red color and red appearance. In the same way, not perceiving form internally, someone sees forms externally that are red, with red color and red appearance. たとえば、バンドゥジーヴァカ（bandhujīvaka）の花が赤く、赤い色をなし、赤い相（にそう）を示し、赤い輝きを放つがごとし。あるいはまた、バーラーナシー（Bārāṇasī）産の布が両面ともよく磨かれ、赤く、赤い色をなし、赤い相を示し、赤い輝きを放つがごとし。かくのごとく、内に色（しき）なしと想（そう）している者が、外に赤く、赤い色をなし、赤い相を示し、赤い輝きを放つ諸々の色を見る。それらを制圧して、「われは知り、かつ見る」と想う。これが第七の制入処（あびばーやたな）である。内に色なしと想している者が、外に白く、白い色をなし、白い相を示し、白い輝きを放つ諸々の色を見る——
