Furthermore, when the Realized One awakens to the supreme perfect awakening, the earth shakes and rocks and trembles. This is the fifth cause and reason for a great earthquake. さらにまた、アーナンダよ、如来（タターガタ）が無上の正しき完全なる覚り（阿耨多羅三藐三菩提）を現等覚するとき、この大地は揺れ動き、震え騒ぎ、激しく振動する。これが大地震の生起する第五の因（ヘトゥ）、第五の縁（パッチャヤ）である。
さらにまた、アーナンダよ、如来が無上の法輪（ダンマチャッカ）を転ずるとき、この大地は揺れ動き、震え騒ぎ、激しく振動する。これが大地震の生起する第六の因、第六の縁である。
さらにまた、アーナンダよ、如来が正念（サティ）にして正知（サンパジャーナ）のうちに、寿行（アーユサンカーラ）を捨て放つとき、この大地は揺れ動き、震え騒ぎ、激しく振動する。これが大地震の生起する第七の因……
