Teach the Dhamma that’s good in the beginning, good in the middle, and good in the end, meaningful and well-phrased. And reveal a spiritual practice that’s entirely full and pure. 「比丘たちよ、初めも善く、中ほども善く、終わりも善く、意義深く、よく整った言葉をもつ法（ダンマ）を説きなさい。そして、完全に円満にして清浄なる梵行（ぼんぎょう）を示しなさい。世には、眼に塵の少ない者たちがいる。彼らは法を聞かないがゆえに退いてしまう。しかし、法を了知する者たちも現れるであろう。さらに、六年が経過するごとに、波羅提木叉（はらだいもくしゃ）を誦するために、バンドゥマティーの王都に集まらなければならない」と。
