‘He is called a renunciate because he celebrates principled and fair conduct, skillful actions, good deeds, harmlessness, and sympathy for living creatures.’ ‘Then I celebrate the one called a renunciate, who celebrates principled and fair conduct, skillful actions, good deeds, harmlessness, and sympathy for living creatures! 「出家者（パッバジタ）と呼ばれるのは、法（ダンマ）にかなった行いをよしとし、正しい行いをよしとし、善巧な行為をよしとし、功徳ある行為をよしとし、不害（アヒンサー）をよしとし、生きとし生けるものへの慈悲をよしとするからにほかなりません。」「そうであるならば、友よ、御者よ、出家者と呼ばれるその人は誠によいものである。法にかなった行いをよしとし、正しい行いをよしとし、善巧な行為をよしとし、功徳ある行為をよしとし、不害をよしとし、生きとし生けるものへの慈悲をよしとするとは。されば、友よ、御者よ、その出家者のもとへ車を走らせよ。」
第九節 菩薩（ボーディサッタ）の出家
そのとき、比丘たちよ、ヴィパッシン王子は御者に告げられた。「さらば、友よ、御者よ、車を引いて、ここより宮殿（アンテプラ）へと引き返すがよい。」
